Russian Federation intends to earn up to $100 billion a year from hydrogen exports

By 2050, Russia wants to earn between $23.6 billion and $100 billion annually from external supplies of clean hydrogen, exporting between 7.9 million and 33.4 million tons, according to the draft hydrogen energy development concept until 2024.

The document was developed by the Ministry of Energy and agreed with the companies and specialized organizations, writes RBC.

Currently, the concept is being coordinated with the government.

According to the magazine, the difference in projections can be explained by different scenarios of development of the world market of hydrogen as an energy carrier and from the demand for it. To date, in fact, such a market does not exist, but in the future it could become large due to the development of technology and the scaling of hydrogen energy, the authors of the concept believe. In their opinion the market may be both global and local with production and consumption of hydrogen concentrated in one and the same state or regions.

It is noted that our country is interested in creation of the world hydrogen energy carriers market as a potentially large hydrogen supplier.
