A Russian vaccine against coronavirus infection will be produced in Serbia.

According to the CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund

Kirill Dmitriev, according to the agreements between the fund and the Torlak Institute, production of Sputnik V was launched in Serbia in a short time.

"Serbia became the first European country to start production of the Russian vaccine. Since the beginning of this year the preparation has been actively used for vaccination of the population, and thanks to the establishment of local production, the scale of vaccination will be considerably increased," he said.

The drug could be exported to other countries in the future.

Vaccination against coronavirus with the Russian Sputnik V began in early January.

The Russian vaccine has now been registered in 60 countries, and its effectiveness exceeds 91 percent.
