Media: Russia may restrict gasoline exports

The Russian authorities are considering the possibility of adding gasoline to the list of goods whose exports may be temporarily restricted.

According to the Kommersant newspaper, such a proposal was made at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak last Wednesday.

According to the minutes of the discussion, the government will add gasoline to the list of important goods for the Russian market, the export of which may be limited or banned altogether, the newspaper said.

Last month, Rosstat reported a 3.03% increase in the retail price of gasoline since the beginning of the year, with the index rising by 1.12% in March alone compared to February, and in annual terms by 5.22%.

At the same time, the average retail price of fuel from March 29 to April 5 rose by 13 kopecks to 47.56 rubles per liter.
