Scientific Center of Virology and Biotechnology "Vector" Rospotrebnadzor launched the first and second phases of clinical trials of a triple drug against coronavirus "Epivakkorona", said the head of the department of zoonotic infections and influenza Alexander Ryzhikov.

He said that the vaccine inoculated primates last year, and at the moment they continue to be monitored. In addition, in July, the preparation vaccinated ferrets and guinea pigs, on which scientists tested the comparative effectiveness of two or three times the vaccination.

Ryzhikov noted that the effect of growth and duration of immunity was primarily confirmed in primates.

The composition does not change with triple vaccination. Immunity to the virus, according to the scientist, after the introduction of "Epivakkorona" is developed in 90% of people.

The drug has become the second vaccine against COVID-19 to receive registration in the Russian Federation. Last autumn the developers were allowed to conduct post-registration trials, including in elderly people.
