The first remedy to treat infected wounds will be released in Russia in summer

A resident of the Dubna Special Economic Zone in the Moscow region - Evers Group Rus group of companies - has developed a unique highly effective remedy for the local treatment of infected wounds of any complexity.

"The company's project involves the development of innovative dressings and materials, as well as rapid diagnostic tools. The volume of investments is 222 million rubles. Jobs at the company have been secured for almost 50 people," said Ekaterina Zinovieva, Minister of Investment, Industry and Science of the Moscow Region.

The remedy is developed as a highly porous sponge of various sizes on the basis of biologically active chitosan and can be applied at any stage of wound process. The remedy is capable of wound resorption, it is safe and nontoxic.

"Chitokol has no analogues on the Russian market, and its effectiveness is confirmed by the results of scientific research," the ministry stressed, noting that the launch of serial production of the new product is planned for the summer of 2021, and the means will be tested in the surgical departments of medical institutions in Moscow and the Moscow region.
