Mail.ru company has bought cloud gaming platform Playkey from its Perm founders. The transaction took place on Friday, according to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities.

Now the Russian IT-holding's share in the founders of Playkey is 80.05%.

The entry on change of ownership structure was made in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities on 21 May. The Perm company is popular due to its cloud gaming platform Playkey. Its founder is Egor Guriev, a resident of the Perm Territory.

According to the media, a demo version of the service appeared in Perm in early 2013, and later moved to the Skolkovo Innovation Center in Moscow.

Guriev himself said last year that the company "entered the status of an operationally profitable service," and before that lived on investments: its monthly losses ranged from $80,000 to $100,000. The company planned to expand into the Middle East this year and eventually into the US, Europe and Asia.

Playkey allows users to play many popular games for a fee without downloading and even on a weak computer. As of today, the service catalog includes more than 250 games, including Dota2, World of Tanks, CS: GO, GTA V, PUBG and NBA 2K21.
