Russia ranked 17th among the world's largest agro-exporters in 2020 despite the pandemic
Russia has risen in the world ranking of the largest exporters from 19th to 17th place with a share of 1.9%, the Russian Agriculture Ministry's federal agro-industrial export development center said.
"Amid a decline in total global trade in 2020, global exports of agribusiness products renewed their record, rising 1.1 percent to $1.61 trillion from 2019, according to ITC Trade Map. By increasing overseas shipments by 19% to $30.5 billion, Russia moved up in the ranking of the largest exporters from 19th to 17th place with a share of 1.9%," the report said.
In particular, the Russian export of cereals increased by 28% to $10.2 billion, shipments of oil and fat products - by 21% to $4.9 billion, food and processing industry - 13% to $4.5 billion.
