Ural Automobile Plant signed an agreement to promote its vehicles in Africa

The Russian Ural Automobile Plant has signed an agreement with the coordinating committee for economic cooperation with the countries of Africa (Afrocom). The agreement will enable the automobile plant to organize export and subsequent sale of its vehicles in the countries of the African continent, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade (Minpromtorg) said.

"The agreement with the Ural Automobile Plant is a key element in the creation of a new innovative model for the promotion of Russian business in Africa. The factory produces a new line of world-class vehicles capable of competing on price and quality with the best examples of the global market. Africa needs to reconsider its view on Russian vehicles to appreciate the advantages of high-tech attachments and detachable equipment. Afrocom is ready to offer its network of representative offices and trade house that will open in Uganda to promote Russian Ural trucks", - the Chairman of the Committee, Russian Federation Senator Igor Morozov quoted in the press release.

It is noted that in 2021 trading houses will be opened in five African countries.

The Ural Automobile Plant is one of the biggest truck manufacturers in Russia. Traditionally the main part of the enterprise production are trucks, dump trucks, tractors and chassis of 4x4, 6x6, 8x8 wheel arrangements with payload from 4 to 25 tons. The company also expands its presence in the market by producing dump trucks, tractors and chassis for installation of different special equipment.

The Ural trucks are in demand by customers in 40 countries of the world. The share of the company in the Russian truck market is 36%. The vehicles are sold through a service and sales network, which includes about 130 certified service centers, the Ministry of Industry and Trade specified.
