A special economic zone (SEZ) will be created in the Orenburg region. The Ministry of Economic Development has already approved the project.

According to the document published on the federal portal of draft regulatory legal acts, a zone of industrial and production type "Orenburzhye" will be created in the region.

It will be divided into two parts: Orsk (total area 180 hectares) and Orenburg (380 hectares). There will be high-tech factories producing lithium titanium batteries, plastic pipes, a plant producing drilling equipment for the mining and oil and gas industry, polymer-bitumen binders, and several enterprises in the food industry.

The construction of a transport and logistics terminal "Silk Road" is also envisaged.

At the moment it is known that the volume of residents' investments for three years could reach 9 billion rubles. More than 900 jobs will be created in the SEZ.
