Finnish company Nokian Tyres has completed an investment project to build an automated tire warehouse in Vsevolozhsk. The investment amounted to 36 million euros, according to the website of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.

There is no similar automated tire warehouse in Russia. It allows to organize high-tech loading and storage of large numbers of tires and at the same time to perform automatic identification of a particular product, its movement and shipment.

The area of the room is 17 thousand square meters. It is equipped with automatic lines for loading and unloading areas and technical rooms. In total up to 550 thousand tyres can be stored here.

All in all, the company has invested over a billion euro in the development of the plant in Russia since 2004, Andrey Pantyukhov, head of Nokian Tyres Russia, said.

"Today, the plant in Vsevolozhsk is the Group's main production site - 82% of all passenger car tyres under the Nokian Tyres brand were manufactured in our plant in the first quarter of 2021," he said.
