The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), the sovereign fund of the Kingdom of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company and Binnopharm Group (part of Sistema JSFC) agreed on the construction of a Russian vaccine production facility Sputnik V in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, RDIF said.

"We are pleased to expand our partnership to establish a facility in Bahrain to produce Sputnik V, the world's first registered vaccine against coronavirus. "Satellite V was included in Bahrain's national vaccine portfolio in February and has been successfully used to protect the population against coronavirus. The localization of production will increase our capacity to produce the drug internationally and help other countries in the region prevent the spread of the coronavirus," RDIF CEO Kirill Dmitriev was quoted as saying in the report.

The Sputnik V vaccine has been registered in 66 countries with a total population of over 3.2 billion people. Post-vaccination studies in several countries demonstrate that Sputnik V is the safest and most effective vaccine against coronavirus. Sputnik V has the second highest number of approvals by government regulators worldwide.
