Russian grocery delivery service Samokat plans to launch its new product in the United States in the summer, The Bell reports citing the company's co-founder Vyacheslav Bocharov.

According to him, the service will work in New York. "Today, Samokat operates in 18 Russian cities and continues to open 80 darkstores a month. We are growing fast and we know we can do even more. The service will have a new name, but it will retain the important: our desire to free people from the routine and real-time retail technology that we create," commented Bocharov.

As the source of the publication specifies, the American team will be collected locally: the idea and partially the technology of Samokat will be transferred to the US market, but not the brand and the people, he explained. The investment in the new project, the number and geography of darkstores have not been determined yet.
