The Vologda cluster of wooden housing construction has attracted 43 companies

Wooden housing construction cluster in the Vologda region has united 43 enterprises with the design capacity up to 450 thousand square meters of individual house sets per year. This was reported by the Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

He said that 500 thousand square meters are built in the Vologda region annually - thus the cluster design capacity is able to practically cover the demand of the region for any housing construction, TASS wrote.

"But today we have not reached the design capacity, 43 enterprises produce 350 thousand square meters of house sets and export their products to 10 regions of Russia and Finland," he said.

Kuvshinnikov also informed that one of the cluster members, Techpromservice enterprise, is building a mobile plant for the production of wooden house sets in Vologda. They can be assembled and disassembled in any region of Russia.

The production volume can be up to 120 prefabricated houses of up to 120-150 square meters. Several regions of Russia as well as the Ministry of Defense have already become interested in the project, he said.

The agreement on the creation of the cluster was signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in 2018,

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum takes place from June 2 to 5. This year's theme is "Together Again. The Economy of the New Reality." The event is organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
