Putin instructed to help regions with a low business climate

Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, instructed the ambassadors to intensify work to improve the business and business climate in regions experiencing problems with attracting investors.

"We will systematically help regions to improve their business environment. I will ask the Presidential Envoys in the federal districts to step up work in this direction. In addition, I will ask the Government to place a special emphasis on supporting those regions that still experience problems with attracting investment. It is necessary to help them introduce best management practices, raise the level and quality of work with investors", - Putin said at the plenary session of the Forum.

He thanked the constituent entities of Russia, which "in the difficult conditions of epidemic, requiring the utmost concentration of resources and attention, did not take a break in this work, did not refer to the circumstances, and continued to work to improve the business climate, conducting a dialogue with the business, attracting new investors.

The head of state noted that these regions deservedly got high ratings in the national investment climate rating. Thus, the top ten included Bashkortostan, Nizhny Novgorod region, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District, the Samara, Sakhalin and Chelyabinsk regions also showed good dynamics, the president said.

St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will be held from June 2 to 5. The theme this year is "Together Again. Economy of new reality". The event is organized by Roscongress Foundation.
