EpiVacCorona vaccine exported to another country for the first time

Geropharm has signed an agreement with the government of Venezuela for supply of EpiVacCorona drug. The document was signed on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the domestic company's press service told the Made in Russia project.

"Venezuela will become the first foreign country where EpiVacCorona will be available for large-scale vaccination of the population to prevent coronavirus infection. Supplies could reach 5 million kits (10 million doses) by the end of the year. Shipments are planned to start as early as September," the statement said.

The document was signed by Carlos Alvarado, Minister of Health of Venezuela and Peter Rodionov, CEO of Geropharm.

According to the head of the company, production of the first batches of EpiVacCorona on a full cycle basis is scheduled to start in July and the shipment of the drug to Venezuela should take place in autumn. "Several other countries are showing interest in our vaccine, and this agreement is likely to be the door to export expansion of the second Russian vaccine," Rodionov shared.

The head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova said the company has now produced a key component of the vaccine - the carrier protein in the amount sufficient to manufacture two million doses. Besides, the transfer of production technology on a full cycle basis has been completed.
