Chuvashia is planning to create a special economic zone (SEZ) in the region in Novocheboksarsk. According to the head of the republic Oleg Nikolaev, documents will be submitted in the next two or three months.

Nikolaev said that initially the authorities intended to create there a territory of priority socio-economic development (TSEZ), writes TASS. However, at the meeting of the working group of the Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev, "it was recommended and approved in principle the creation of a special economic zone in the city of Novocheboksarsk.

Let us recall that in February Trutnev instructed the leadership of Chuvashia and the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia to study the issue of forming a special economic zone (SEZ) in the city of Novocheboksarsk.

SEZ is a territory with a special legal status. Most often these are preferential tax or customs conditions for national or foreign entrepreneurs. The main purpose of such zones is to solve problems of social and economic development of the state, separate regions or separate industries.
