The Republic of Congo has registered a one-component vaccine Sputnik Lite. This was reported by the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).

This vaccine is the first component of the Sputnik V vaccine. Its efficacy after 28 days of injection is 79.4%. This is higher than many two-dose vaccines.

The foundation pointed out that this is the second registered coronavirus vaccine in the country - in March 2021, the Congolese Ministry of Health conducted a similar procedure for the two-component Sputnik V vaccine. The drug was approved for use in an accelerated procedure. The Sputnik V vaccine has been approved for use in 67 countries with a population of more than 3.5 billion people.
