Modul Scientific and Technological Center (STC) has signed an agreement with the government of Novgorod region on the margins of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the project "Made in Russia" was reported in the press service of the enterprise.

Under the agreement, the STC will establish a microelectronic production facility in the special economic zone (SEZ) "Novgorodskaya". This will build the largest production facility for SiP (system-in-package) microelectronic modules. The project is planned to be implemented together with a foreign technology partner.

They are planning to invest 1 billion roubles in the project, of which around 200 million roubles will be the company's own funds. The major part of the money will be spent on construction of the production building, equipment purchasing, and creation of production facilities.

It is noted that the major source of financing at the investment stage will be borrowed funds.

The products of the future production are intended, among other things, for the space industry, fuel and energy complex and manufacturers of computing and telecommunication equipment.

Tax privileges of SEZ will enable to optimize the selling prices for the components by 10-13 %. This together with measures of state support of Russian microelectronic products will allow competing with offers of global vendors in the microelectronics market.
