Two companies are investing in the development of a timber processing complex in Yakutia

The government of Yakutia signed a trilateral agreement with RIC Plus and Starway group of companies on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Made in Russia project was told by the press center of the republic in Moscow.

Under the agreement, the parties will develop timber and wood processing business on the basis of complex "Almas"complex in the west of Yakutia.

"The agreement signed today is not only a contribution to the development of Yakutia's timber industry complex, but also the creation of new jobs, primarily for the local population, as well as providing the Yakutian market with lumber and locally produced wooden house-building products, which will certainly contribute to an increase in individual housing construction", - said Kirill Bychkov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic.

The trilateral work will allow to build a modern sawmill in the region, increase the quality of the products and create additional jobs.

According to the chief executive director of Starway"Vladimir Kozhokar, the group of companies in the framework of the project intends to build a high-tech woodworking industry. "It is important for us to maintain a careful attitude to Yakutia's forest wealth and strengthen our status as a strategic investor in this region," he said.
