Berdex, a Dutch manufacturer of machinery for transporting live animals, will localize its production in the special economic zone (SEZ) "Novgorodskaya". The relevant document was signed by the Governor of the Novgorod region and CEO of Berdex Group during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Under the agreement the foreign company will implement an investment project on production of innovative trailer and cargo machinery for transportation of marketable agricultural animals, poultry and bulk products.

The company will invest 120 million roubles in the production. Its implementation is scheduled for 2023-2030. When the enterprise reaches its full production capacity, the annual turnover is expected to reach half a billion rubles.

The SEZ resident status will enable the company to expand its production capacity from 72 to 200 units of machinery. Russia's major agricultural holdings, including Miratorg, Rusagro, and AgroEco, will be the customers of the machinery. In addition, machines will be supplied to Europe, the CIS, Asia and North America.

Berdex is one of the world leaders in unique machinery for the agricultural sector and animal logistics. The company launched its production in Veliky Novgorod in 2017 for more than two million euros.

In 2019, the company won the RusPrix Award in the category "Best Russian-Dutch investment project in the real economic sector in the medium and small business sector".
