Governor of Tver region Igor Rudenya and Chairman of the Board of Directors of "New Transport Company" Ruslan Pryanikov signed a cooperation agreement, which implies creation of a unified vertically integrated holding for processing of coniferous and hardwood full cycle in the region.

In particular, a plant for deep wood processing will be built in Andreapol municipal district.

"High-tech production is planned to produce a wide range of wood products - fuel briquettes, charcoal and dry packaged firewood according to European standards, veneer, plywood, lumber and molded products. It is planned to invest about 2 billion rubles and create over 390 new working places within six years", it was reported.

As reported earlier, a complete ban on export of unfinished softwood and valuable hardwood timber will be forbidden from January 1. Earlier the Russian President also offered to launch a special modernization program for small and medium-sized woodworking enterprises on the basis of the industry development fund. The programme envisages favourable loans for re-equipment of production facilities and establishment of wood-processing capacities.
