An online programme for the promotion of regional brands has been launched in Russia.

It will include several basic modules on branding, marketing, organization of offline and online sales, development of agro-tourism services, access to export markets and other areas, the Ministry of Agriculture said.

After completing the course, students will receive a certificate from the Russian State Agrarian Distance Learning University.

Deputy Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut said the program will be part of the work under the president's instruction. "Last year the department organized the first National contest "Tastes of Russia", which allowed to form a real gastronomic map of our country, more than 500 unique regional brands took part in it. The educational programme is part of this big undertaking," said Lout.

It is expected that due to the course participants and winners will be able to competently position themselves and their products in the market, master new trade formats and effectively use the available resources, and successfully scale their business.
