Sakhalin sea cucumber producer started exporting products to China and Korea

A Sakhalin producer of sea cucumber ("sea cucumber"), which is caught in Aniva Bay, has launched exports to China and South Korea, according to the website of the regional Ministry of Economic Development.

According to Artem Potapenko, general director of the enterprise, in the near future the company intends to open its own culinary shop, which will ensure year-round operation and create delicacies. Now freshly caught "sea cucumber" is sent for processing to the shop on the shore of the bay, where it is boiled and dried.

"There are also plans to expand foreign markets and the range of seafood produced. Specialists of the Centre (Sakhalin Export Support Centre - note) helped us to conclude an export contract. We have developed a website in a foreign language and printed products from scratch", - he shared.

The producer plans to look for new customers at international exhibitions, the participation in which will be compensated by the regional center. For instance, companies will be reimbursed for expenses on lease of exhibition space and equipment for the stand, payment of registration fees, technical and linguistic support of negotiations and preparation of presentation materials.

Local entrepreneurs can now obtain preferential microloans, industry support, consultations or training to enter international markets at My Business. The center offers more than 400 free services to both new and experienced entrepreneurs.

According to the website of the Ministry, development of small and medium-sized businesses directly affects the investment attractiveness of the region. At the same time, the administrative burden is being reduced, property support is being expanded and feedback is being productively worked out.
