Prolonged weekends could reduce business revenues in Moscow by 20%, experts say

Long weekends in Moscow can reduce the revenue of businesses, especially public catering, by 20%, estimated the commissioner for the protection of entrepreneurs' rights in the capital Tatyana Mineeva.

"All businesses whose main revenue falls at night, of course, will have to suspend their work for the period of restrictive measures. The same applies to children's entertainment parks and zoos. Additional days off will reduce monthly revenue by about 20%", - said Mineeva to TASS agency.

She noted that the public catering industry will have the hardest time.

According to her, many entrepreneurs are "preemptively concerned with the issue of vaccinating their employees".

"I am sure that the companies, in which most or all of the employees have been vaccinated, won't notice the restrictions introduced today and will continue working quietly. At the end of the day, it is important to commensurate choices with the common good. The key task today is to avoid potential consequences of increased disease incidence," the ombudsman said.
