The State Duma passed in the final reading a bill on the development of agro-tourism in Russia.

The document establishes the concept of "rural tourism". It provides visits to rural areas and small towns with population below 30 thousand people for getting used to the traditional way of life and getting acquainted with the work of agricultural producers.

According to the Chairman of the Committee on Physical Culture, Sport, Tourism and Youth Affairs of the Lower House of Parliament, Boris Paikin, by 2030 the document may increase revenue from rural tourism up to 50 billion rubles, and also ensure the growth of agro-tourism market by about 7 times with creation of up to 60 thousand new jobs.
