Resident of SAR Yakutia began recycling packaging from household appliances and products

The Teplyy Krai plant, a resident of the Yakutia Advanced Economic Development Territory, has launched a line for recycling foam plastic, the Made in Russia project was told by the republic's press center in Moscow.

In particular, it will recycle polystyrene packaging of household appliances or food products and produce polystyrene blocks from recycled materials.

The plant focuses mainly on the production of sandwich panels. The launch of the new line enabled the plant to move to a more efficient level of non-waste production organization. Earlier the company could add waste products to primary raw materials, which are generated in the process of polystyrene foam production. Now polystyrene blocks can be produced completely from recycled raw materials.

The recycling line consists of crushing, storage and shaping equipment. The crusher crushes the polystyrene foam, but the granules retain their integrity and later they can be given the shape required for reuse.

In addition, polystyrene packaging of household appliances or food will also be recycled here.

In an eight hour shift the line will recycle 50 cubic metres of recyclable materials. At the beginning the company plans to process only their own waste and in the future they are going to start accepting foamed polystyrene from other companies.
