Moscow authorities issued a clarification on compulsory vaccination of employees

The Operational Headquarters for Control and Monitoring of the Coronavirus Situation in Moscow and Rospotrebnadzor have issued clarifications on the procedure for mandatory vaccination of service sector employees.

It is reported that in the period of epidemiological insecurity the employer is obliged to provide vaccination to its employees within the period specified by the chief sanitary doctor of the city.

The authorities also stressed that the mandatory vaccination of 60% of employees includes exclusively those employees who have received the vaccine. The remaining 40% are those who have a temporary medical exemption from vaccination, and previously had COVID-19 with the presence of antibodies.

In this case, only those working in Moscow are taken into account. Employees working remotely and self-employed, engaged on the basis of contracts, are included in the total staff when determining the percentage of vaccinated.

"In case of an employee's evasion from vaccination, the employer shall record that fact by drawing up a relevant act in writing," the explanatory note says.

In case of violation of the law, employers may face a fine or administrative suspension of activities for up to 90 days.

Rospotrebnadzor's office in the capital said in this connection that taking into account the complicated situation, the service will ask for sanctions only in the form of administrative suspension of activities for up to 90 days, when sending materials to the court.
