Co-owner of Burger Heroes: Business is ready to endure new restrictions, but with the support of the authorities

The new covid wave has once again brought unexpected adjustments to the work of businessmen in the form of QR codes, which will be used to let people into cafes from Monday. Businesses are ready to accept the new conditions, but they need help from the state, said Olga Korneeva, co-owner of Burger Heroes restaurant chain, during a press conference.

This week, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin signed a decree according to which starting from June 28, only guests with a vaccination against coronavirus, or those who have been infected with covid for the last six months, and visitors with a negative PCR-test will be able to visit public catering establishments in the capital. On Thursday, the city manager authorized until and including July 11 to allow citizens to sit on porches at stationary cafes and restaurants.

Korneeva drew attention to a nuance in the decree, which indicates that the restaurant will be excluded from the special registry if a person is found in the café without a QR code that confirms vaccination.

"It is only possible to reapply after 30 days, from which we conclude that this situation is with us for a long time, for several months. We, as a business, are ready to endure it, just so this situation is corrected and does not drag on for many years, but we ask for government support and for the measures to be effective," she said.
