Russian company Illusion, supported by the National Technology Initiative (NTI), has developed the Illusion Aroma technology. According to Ilya Finatov, head of the project, it allows watching movies with aroma accompaniment.

"We offer a technology of scent track similar to the sound track. Smells are distributed through the film in the same way as sound. We plan to provide a lot of smells by blending, like on a color palette," Vedomosti quoted him as saying.

He noted that the development team has analyzed the scenes of more than a hundred movies and identified the most common smells, which will be in the library - for example, the smell of coffee or pastries.

The development team included the winners and runners-up from various technical and start-up competitions: WorldSkills Russia Junior, Kurchatov Tournament, My First Business international competition, Illusion said.
