Cheese production in the Tambov region increased by 13% in 2021

Cheesemakers of the Tambov region have produced about 4 thousand tons of cheese since the beginning of 2021, which is 13% more than during the same period last year, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture said.

"Cheesemakers are now paying a lot of attention to assortment strategy, which is based on meeting the taste preferences of the most demanding customers. Enterprises produce not only a wide range of traditional hard, semi-hard, soft cheeses, but also exclusive cheeses: goat cheese, semi-hard cheeses with various fillers - fenugreek, truffle, Italian herbs, walnut, yogurt, - said the head of agriculture department of region Lidiya Bakumenko.

The main producers of Tambov cheese are Bondarsky Cheese Plant, Novopokrovsky Butter and Cheese Plant, Orbita, Druzhba Maslozavod, Morshansky Butter Plant. Their share in total output is more than 98%.
