MAI and UAC agreed to create an aviation training centre

The Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) and the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) signed a strategic partnership agreement during the MAKS-2021 air show. As part of the agreement, it is planned to create a training center, the institute's press service told the Made in Russia project.

It is planned that the training center will train aviation personnel of different categories, including engineering and technical personnel, ground and flight personnel and flight attendants.

Training of aviation personnel will be based on the principles of integration of education, science and industry. The educational process will consist of theoretical and simulator training, joint participation in research and development.

As UAC CEO Yuri Slyusar noted, the corporation is interested in building up the capacity to train personnel for civil aircraft at a high level. "We consider this work as an important part of an effective system to support the operation of Russian new generation airliners: the Superjet 100, MS-21 and IL-114," he added.

Today MAI, according to the university's rector Mikhail Pogosyan, provides unique personnel training and trains complex engineers, primarily for the aerospace industry.

"The university is already implementing training programs for aviation and non-aviation personnel on the basis of the MAI Aviation Training Center. As part of cooperation with the UAC, training of aviation personnel for civil aircraft of the UAC will be organized on the basis of the new training center," he concluded.
