Putin hopes for productive cooperation with APEC representatives at WEF

Russian President Vladimir Putin looks forward to active cooperation with Asia-Pacific economic cooperation countries at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF). Roscongress wrote about it, citing the press service of the Kremlin.

According to the president, business forums make a very significant contribution to the development and revitalization of the global economy after the coronavirus crisis.

"By the way, this was clearly demonstrated by the results of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum held in Russia in June, "on the margins" of which some 800 agreements were signed for a record sum of more than $50 billion," Putin said.

The Russian side hopes that the WEF will prove to be a similarly productive and useful event, he added. "We expect that representatives of the region's economies will take an active part in another forum held in Russia, the Eastern Economic Forum, scheduled for September 2-4 in Vladivostok," he said.

At the same time, Putin emphasized that such forums should take into account all anti-epidemic requirements.

As a reminder, the WEF-2021 business program includes four main areas: "The Economy of the New Age: What Will Change and What Will Remain", "The Far East - New Challenges and Opportunities", "Shared Responsibility in a Changed World" and "Youth WEF".

The Forum will be held on September 2-4 in Vladivostok.
