Timber products, pharmaceuticals, meat and fish products are the most demanded products for export from Russia to Vietnam, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade (Minpromtorg) said at the end of the Russian-Vietnamese business mission.

Opening the business mission was held online, it was attended by more than 120 companies from Vietnam and 20 companies from Moscow, working in the field of medicine, information technology, food processing, construction products, machinery and equipment, the ministry said.

According to the trade representative office, trade turnover between Russia and Vietnam is growing, but it is mainly due to the actively growing imports of Vietnamese goods. As for the volume of Russian exports to the country, in the first five months of 2021 this figure dropped by 17%. The Ministry of Industry and Trade notes that promising for Russian exports to Vietnam are timber products, pharmaceuticals, meat and dairy and fish products, as well as grain, flour and other food products.

"In the first half of 2021, Russia ranked first in pork exports to Vietnam ($103.4 million and 52.6 thousand tons). The parties have agreed on the forms of veterinary certificates for beef, chicken and by-products, as well as for pork, fish and dairy products. In the near future, the Vietnamese regulator will approve a number of seafood producers from Russia's Far East regions," the ministry said.
