Manufacturers of disinfectants and skin antiseptics can take part in the labelling experiment which will start in Russia on 1 August. It is planned to last until August 31, 2022, the country's Ministry of Industry and Trade (Minpromtorg) said.

"With the spread of COVID-19, ensuring lawful circulation of antiseptics and disinfectants is most urgent. Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia supported the initiative of the industry to conduct an experiment on labeling at the interindustry working group on combating illicit trafficking of pharmaceutical and medical industries," - said in the report.

According to the head of the department Denis Manturov, the feasibility of the experiment was approved by all members of the State Commission for combating illicit trafficking of industrial products, after which we introduced the relevant draft resolution to the government.

"Participation in the experiment is on a voluntary basis. In the course of it together with business we will test methods of digital labeling of antiseptics and disinfectants packaging and its traceability from production or import of products till their withdrawal from turnover. In addition, we will work out in practice all the bottlenecks, if any are revealed in the process, and find solutions that are optimal for manufacturers and suppliers," Manturov noted.
