Production of equipment for the Egyptian NPP was launched in Syzran

Tyazhmash Machine-Building Enterprise in Syzran commissioned production of molten metal localization devices for four units of Ed-Dabia nuclear power plant (NPP) in Egypt.

The company manufactures, among other things, overhead electric circular cranes for power units of this NPP.

"Having undergone large-scale modernization in recent years, Tyazhmash today is equipped with the most modern equipment to execute orders of any complexity. The task to supply equipment for the nuclear power plant in Egypt will be done on time and at the highest level," Samara Region Governor Dmitry Azarov was quoted as saying by the regional government's press service.

As Director General of the company Andrey Trifonov noted, Tyazhmash has been cooperating with Rosatom for many years. Now the plant is involved in construction of numerous nuclear power plants in Russia and other countries, which allowed the company to increase the volume of "atomic" contracts in the portfolio of orders up to 30 percent.

Today Tyazhmash is supplying overhead electric circular cranes for four power units to the Egyptian plant and in a year the dispatch of fusion containment units will start. The unit is part of the passive nuclear safety system which ensures the collection and retention of molten reactor core products in the event of a severe reactor vessel failure.
