Moscow companies' non-energy exports increased by 1.5 times

Moscow's non-energy exports increased by 31.5%. Compared to the same period last year, it amounted to $15.38 billion, Deputy Mayor of the capital Vladimir Yefimov said.

"Moscow exporters are improving their performance every year. Over the past two years, they have managed to increase non-resource non-energy exports by 1.5 times: from $10.82 billion in the first half of 2019 to $15.38 billion in the first half of 2021," the deputy mayor said on the Moscow City Hall portal mos.ru.

According to the Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy Alexander Prokhorov, almost 90% of Moscow deliveries abroad are industrial products. He noted that Moscow companies sell mechanical equipment and machinery (the delivery amounted to $1,11 billion), electrical equipment and parts, including telecommunications equipment (they delivered $760.94 million), various plastic products (exports amounted to $719.28 million).

Exports of agro-industrial products also showed a positive trend - in the first half of this year it was $1.64 billion, which is 1.8% higher than in the same period of 2020. The key importers were the neighboring countries - Kazakhstan (191.21 million dollars) and Belarus (164.43 million dollars).

It is specified that production of the Moscow enterprises is delivered on 175 foreign markets, and the main importer is the USA - the volume of deliveries has made 1,78 billion dollars. The list of leaders also includes Kazakhstan - 1.47 billion, Belarus - 1.45 billion, Germany - 924.87 million, and China - 904.76 million dollars. These countries account for more than 40% of Moscow's total non-energy exports.

According to the Center of export support "Mosprom", among foreign consumers the ready-made foodstuffs are especially popular - meat, dairy, confectionery and flour products. Thus, exports of ready-made flour products, which includes pasta, dumplings and confectionery, increased by 26.3% to $107.42 million. Supplies of prepared meat and fish products, such as semi-finished products, canned foods and snacks, rose by 12.5% to $35.37 million.

In total, Moscow accounts for 18.5% of Russia's total non-energy exports, making it the leader among the regions, the mayor's office said.
