Since the beginning of the year, 76.6 thousand tons of vegetable crops grown in greenhouse agricultural organizations have been harvested in the Moscow region. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the region, the growth compared to the same period last year was about 4% - 5 thousand tons.

Minister of Agriculture and Food of the region Sergey Voskresensky noted that cucumbers were produced more than 46.6 thousand tons, tomatoes - about 30 thousand tons.

"We harvested more than 5 thousand tons more vegetables than on the same date last year," he said.

Leaders in the production of vegetables in protected ground to date are companies "Agrokultura Group" from the urban district of Kashira, as well as "Lukhovitskie Ovoschi" and "Ivanisovo" from Electrostal.

The total area of winter greenhouses in the Moscow region is about 167 hectares.
