Moscow Technopolis residents increased investments 3.6 times

Residents of Technopolis "Moscow" have increased in 3,6 times the amount of investments in the first half of this year, up to 11,5 billion rubles. Last year, investments in the first six months amounted to 3.2 billion roubles, said Vladimir Yefimov, Deputy Mayor of the capital.

In general, residents of the special economic zone (SEZ) have directed almost 50 billion rubles in development for 15 years of operation.

"For first six months of 2021 SEZ residents - Technopolis "Moscow" - have invested more than 11,5 billion rubles in capital economy development. This is 3.6 times more than the indicator of the same period last year <...>, and also 1.7 times more than the residents' total investments for the whole 2019", - Efimov said.

The largest volume of investments in the first half of the year was recorded in the manufacturers of medicines, medical devices and equipment.

Also in the top three in terms of investments are enterprises of the microelectronics cluster. This includes the manufacturers of chips, microcircuits, semiconductor products, whose investments amounted to almost 730 million roubles.

More than 280 million rubles have been invested in high-tech manufacturing, which produces inspection equipment and 3D printing, and creates educational complexes for the education system.

The residents traditionally direct financing to the development and expansion of production, modernization of equipment and new developments, said the press service of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy. Throughout the existence of the SEZ, since 2006, the residents have created over 7 thousand new jobs.
