Russia's largest automaker KAMAZ received more than 1 billion rubles for modernization of production and renewal of the model range of trucks, according to the government decree.

The decision is based on the results of the working trip of the head of the government Mikhail Mishustin to Naberezhnye Chelny, which took place on 3 June. During the trip Mikhail Mishustin visited the plant "KAMAZ", where he talked with workers and held a meeting on development of the enterprise. After returning to Moscow, the minister instructed to allocate additional funding for implementation of plans for plant development.

According to KAMAZ's CEO Sergey Kogogin, in the near future the plant plans to increase the volume of vehicles production, increase the production of engines, axles and wheel reducers, as well as to increase the level of localization of cabins for trucks.

The allocated financing will, in particular, help the factory to compensate costs for investment projects and put into operation a new line for profiling of side members - the main power elements of vehicles.
