The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation may start accepting applications for subsidized rail shipments of pollock from the Far East to the central regions of the country from September 7-8. This is reported on the website of the All-Russian Association of Fishery Enterprises, Entrepreneurs and Exporters (VARPE).

On Monday, a meeting concerning the launch of state support mechanism of Pollock delivery to the Russian regions was held in Rosrybolovstvo. During the meeting, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture said the department is ready to receive applications not earlier than September 7-8, as the necessary regulatory framework is in the process of registration at the Ministry of Justice, said the results of the meeting president Herman Zverev.

Now the applications are suspended due to the depletion of the funding limits. The association specified that at the moment they are working on redistribution of budget funds to ensure subsidizing of Pollock transportation.

Zverev pointed out the importance of this measure for fishermen.

"But no less important is the fact that the Ministry of Agriculture informed us that a similar resolution will be in force next year. <...> This will have a positive effect on the market. Carriers will be sure that next year there will be subsidies, fishermen will be sure that the carriers will carry. And it will create the necessary price coordinates, on the basis of which fishermen, wholesalers and transporters will be able to build their production plans, "- he said on the WARPE website.
