Agro-industrial holding "Eco-culture" will build a greenhouse complex worth 18.4 billion rubles in Kabardino-Balkaria, according to the website of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture.

"The total tentative cost of the project is estimated at 18.4 billion rubles. About 7.6 billion rubles will be spent on the construction of the first stage of the year-round greenhouses alone," the report says.

As it is told in press-service of Rosselkhozbank, the project provides erection of a hothouse complex with the area of 100 hectares. Within the first stage year-round greenhouses of the area of almost 38 hectares will be started up.

According to Khasan Sizhzhayev, the head of the regional Ministry of Agriculture, on the average in republic production of vegetables in closed ground makes 24-25 thousand tons. He noted that this is about 7-8% of the total volume of vegetable production.

"The area of industrial greenhouses in the republic today is 27 hectares. At the first stage, it is envisaged to grow greenhouse tomatoes in the volume of about 20 thousand tons annually," Sizhazhev said, adding that the launch of the complex will create about 700 new jobs.
