Unique production of mineral fertilizers was launched in Russia

A new production of complex fertilizer - ammonium sulfate-nitrate, which has no analogues in Russia, was launched at Togliatti chemical enterprise KuibyshevAzot in honor of the 55th anniversary of the plant, the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported.

"Ammonium sulphate-nitrate is a new complex fertilizer. The plant that opens today is the first in Russia. It is a new product for which a steady demand has already been formed. It means four billion in investments, new jobs, prospects for the development of the enterprise and, therefore, high incomes for all its employees for many years," - said Dmitry Azarov, Governor of the Samara Region.

The capacity of the new facility will be 360 thousand tons per year or 1.1 thousand tons per day, and 42 jobs will be created.

The new mineral fertilizer supplies plants with nitrogen, sulphur and micronutrients, allowing for an increase in yields of up to 40%. The use of ammonium sulphate-nitrate improves soil fertility and has a positive effect on crop growth and yield formation as compared with traditional fertilizers. At the same time not only the yield but also the quality of agricultural products increases. In addition, the fertilizer has a high strength pellets, 100% crumbly, and can be used on all types of soils and for all crops.

According to the department, there is already demand for this fertilizer not only from Russian agricultural producers, but also from the global market. The fertilizer is especially in demand in regions where soils lack sulphur, e.g. the Samara Oblast. KuibyshevAzot is working on the range and quality of fertilizers with specialists from Samara State Agrarian University.

"KuibyshevAzot is one of the leading Russian chemical companies and the leader in caprolactam and polyamide production in Russia, CIS and Eastern Europe. The plant's products are delivered to more than 60 countries around the world. New modern and environmentally friendly production lines are being constructed, the existing ones are being modernized and progressive technologies are being implemented. Since 2000, 17 new production facilities have been launched, seven joint ventures have been established with major global companies, including DSM (Netherlands), Linde Group (Germany), MaireTecnimontGroup (Italy).
