Vladivostok's beaches want to be issued under concessions for their development, city head Konstantin Shestakov said during the "Small Business in the Urban Economy of the Far East" session at the Eastern Economic Forum.

"We propose to lease and possibly concessions for beach areas," he said.

Primorsky Krai and Vladivostok in particular, as the head of the city noted, is a place of attraction during the summer vacation for a large number of Far East residents. However, travelers here are greeted by uncomfortable beaches, far from blue or green flag standards.

"There are simply no such beaches. We have decided that we will create municipal areas so that this issue can be resolved quickly, but we are also ready to transfer such areas to businesses for the long term so that the investment that businesses are willing to make in this area would be more than the chair and rope they traditionally pull. Of course, this should be a fundamentally different infrastructure," emphasized Shestakov.
