Vladivostok authorities want to attract entrepreneurs to work on snow removal, said Vladivostok Mayor Konstantin Shestakov during the "Small Business in the City Economy" session of the Eastern Economic Forum.

"Vladivostok knows firsthand the problems with snowfall, this issue can also be solved in cooperation with business, we have made provisions for outsourcing such work, previously it was mostly performed by municipal enterprises," he said.

Another serious problem, for the solution of which the authorities plan to attract entrepreneurs, is public transport.

"In order to make our motor transport partners and enterprises see the future, we suggested concluding three-year contracts", - he said, specifying that previously such contracts were concluded for one year. Because of this, according to the mayor, credit and leasing organizations have not seen a clear perspective of work with transport companies and as a result the fleet has not been renewed.

"We will allocate 600 million rubles from the budget in order to make such contracts possible", - added Shestakov.

In addition, the authorities want to involve business to resolve the issue with pre-school education, namely, to attract small and medium-sized businesses in the context of the establishment of kindergartens.

Shestakov also said that local authorities are now supporting Primorye farmers. "We have created 100 new places for them to sell farm products. Together with businesses, we are creating a project on modern trade zones. For example, our partners have become major producers who work in Primorye," the mayor shared.

The Eastern Economic Forum takes place in Vladivostok on September 2-4. The main theme of this year's event is "New Opportunities for the Far East in a Changing World". The forum is organised by the Roscongress Foundation.
