Ministry of Agriculture sends 14 farming zattachas abroad

The Russian Ministry of Agriculture has sent 14 farming zattachas abroad. According to Sergey Levin, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Russia, the agency will double their number by the end of the year.

"We are implementing a large complex of non-financial measures. First of all I mean the creation of the Competence Center, in fact, the institute for support and promotion represented by "Agroexport" in the Ministry of Agriculture and sending agricultural zattachas to 50 countries. We have already sent 14, before the end of the year we will send about the same amount. There will be 52 people in 40 countries", - he said during the Eastern Economic Forum.

According to Levin, this will allow to form a full-fledged institute of support and promotion of Russian products of world level.

We will remind, since 2019, on the basis of the Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia "International agricultural markets and foreign economic activity in the agro-industrial complex" MGIMO is implementing a professional training program "Agricultural Attachés".

The program has been developed to create a network of agro-industrial attachés abroad.

The duties of the agricultural attachés include working out proposals on development of agrarian cooperation, conclusion of international agreements and contracts in the field of agriculture, establishment of business contacts with representatives of the authorities and business, and assistance in negotiations of Russian companies with potential partners. Formation of the attache network will help to promote domestic agricultural products and foodstuffs in foreign markets and to enhance export potential of the country, according to the department.

The VI Eastern Economic Forum takes place in Vladivostok on September 2-4.
