Crimean authorities intend to increase grain exports to Africa

The Crimean authorities consider African countries as a promising market for agricultural products. Andrey Ryumshin, the republic's Minister of Agriculture, made a statement to this effect.

"We consider the countries of the African continent as a promising destination for the sale of agricultural products, particularly wheat. In 2020, grain crops were exported to African countries from the Republic of Crimea: to Egypt - 94.6 thousand tons, Nigeria - 5.02 thousand tons, Libya - 53.03 thousand tons," TASS quoted him as saying.

Ryumshin noted that the region is open for cooperation with other African countries.

We will remind, in 2020, the agrarians of Crimea harvested 1 million tons of grain crops with the need of the peninsula in 300 thousand tons. In 2019, agricultural producers of the peninsula harvested about 1.7 million tons of grain.
