Siemens negotiates supply of charging stations for electric cars to Russia

Siemens is ready to supply charging stations for electric cars from Germany to Russia. This was announced by Alexander Liberov, President of Siemens in Russia.

"Now we are negotiating on two pilot projects on this topic. One on DC chargers, another one on AC chargers. They have different charging speeds: one device allows you to charge a car very quickly, while the other charges for several hours," he said in an interview with TASS.

He noted that the Russian market of electric cars is now in its infancy - there are 11 thousand such cars registered in the country - but there is already a positive trend. So, in 2020 in Russia there were registered by 71% more electric cars than the year before.

In this case Liberov reminded that there are only a few hundred charging stations for electric cars in the country, all of them are located in large cities. "Without the development of infrastructure, the development of electric transport is also impossible," he stressed.
