Hoteliers of Karelia will get tax benefits in the form of cancellation of property tax for five years. This was announced by the head of the republic Artur Parfenchikov.

"Today we went for property tax exemption after construction of accommodation places for the period of five years. You build a hotel - you don't pay property tax. Today the tax is zeroed out after the facility is put into operation. In the course of the work there is another exemption for the land tax", - quoted TASS.

The privileges will be valid for the investors who have put new objects for tourists on the cadastral register after January 1, 2021.

According to the authorities, it will improve the quality of infrastructure and create better conditions for the implementation of the national project "Tourism and hospitality industry".

We shall remind you that earlier it was reported that the region is experiencing a shortage of places for tourists. The authorities assured that a package of additional incentives for those willing to build new hotels and other forms of recreational facilities for tourists will be introduced in the region.
