Russia opens new markets for seafood

Russia has found new markets for seafood. According to Russian Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev, the place of China, which maintains restrictive measures on imports of products and other countries, has been taken by buyers from South Korea, Japan, the European Union, Mauritania and New Zealand.

"Restrictions from China have prompted us to look for new markets. In particular, significant volumes have been diverted to South Korea, Japan and EU countries. In addition, domestic fish and fish products are now supplied to Mauritania and New Zealand, "- he said in the framework of the IV International Fisheries Forum.

At the same time Patrushev noted that negotiations with the Chinese side are continuing, and Russia proposes additional measures to reduce the risk of spread of coronavirus.

To date, Russian fish products are exported to 20 markets.
