Mass production of gadgets based on the Skif microprocessor will be launched in Russia in 2023.

According to the developer, its performance is comparable to that of the iPhone 6 and iPad Air.

The Skif mobile processor can be used in tablets, smartphones, "smart" cameras, telecommunications infrastructure, autonomous robotic complexes and industrial automation. Development of the processor took four years. Investments in the project were not disclosed.

Several companies have already announced that they intend to produce tablets based on the new Russian processor.

The manufacturer of the processor is the research and production centre Electronic Computing and Information Systems (RPC Elvis).

It was established in March 1990 on the basis of a structural division of Scientific-Production Association "ELAS", which performed the development in the 1960-1980's in the field of space electronic equipment. At present Elvis designs radiation-resistant microcircuits for spacecraft, microcircuits for industrial computers, tablets, information security devices, IP-video cameras, IP-telephones, etc. According to SPARK data, the proceeds in 2020 - 2.4 billion rubles, net profit - 237 million rubles.
